Day 8 Junior Rangers and Daddy's Birthday Dinner

Josie and Buddy became Rocky Mountain National Park Junior Rangers today. Very cool!! They learned about the park, the different parts of the mountain, the animals, plants, etc in the park, and more. They were tested on their knowledge. It was really cute- during Buddy's test, they asked what he would do if he got lost. He said "use a map!". Josie answered all her questions - she's a little sponge. The ranger added their names to the roster (buddy was nice enough to tell him how to spell his name). Technically the junior ranger program is for 5 and up, but.. well we snuck Buddy in. I plan to do the same thing in Yellowstone if we can. If he can understand the information then who does it hurt? He's very curious about nature- especially anything he will be hunting. He has the hunting bug thats for sure. I wonder if Jerry was the same as a 4 year old?

It is rainy and icky so Grandpa and Jerry brought us into town for a bit of shopping and a birthday dinner for Jerry (his birthday is tomorow!) We got some awesome elk jerky and a few souvineers and ate a great dinner. Gunner spend some of it trying to eat the table. If babies only knew the gross things they try to put in their mouths.. ugh! I have to admit, as our third, he gets to put alot more in his mouth then Josie would have been able to! I can already see the difference in first time parenting to now...
